Cabaret of War 4- the End/ While all the world is consumed in the question of whether or not the world is coming to an end, I present a number of jokes about the end, asking the question if there is a real chance of moving on in this world. This is probably also the last version of my presentations of jokes from warfilms. Shown at the show, Contemporary Reflections of War at Bgk Garage, Copenhagen

2010 : A speech to the Silent Majority – a performance lecture advocating for silence and words without meaning, for outspoken times, at Overgaden, Institute of Contemporary Arts, Copenhagen

2009 and ongoing: Not to think of a white bear: 

performances and online diary . If one sets oneself the task not to think of a white bear, the cursed thing will come to mind very minute, Dostoyevskij wrote. I succesfully managed to get the bear out of my head, and it may turn out to be more of a hazzle outside than in. So far it travelled with me to China, where it met it’s bearbrothers the pandas, and tried and make some sense in it’s experiences on it’s online diary: read that and the other upcoming experiences of the white bear at www.thewhitebear.info

2004-2009:Os Almindelige Mennesker/Us normal People – a poster/badge/brochure campaign informing positively about being perfectly normal, being the silent majority, a Plebeian, the lowest common denominator, etc, and being it responsibly, willingly, and actively.

2009: Hven, an island in Øresund – A project about national identity and borderlines, and a film about lost territory, tourism, and the expatriate, now canonized danish Astronomer, Tycho Brahe. in collaboration with Annemette Arendt, for Århus Festuge.

2009: A backstage Beer Musical – a performance about power, beer and backstage in collaboration with Sonya Scönberger (DE), shown at Beaver Projects, Copenhage.

2009: Placebo, Science and Lying to yourself – a powerpoint performance in practical selfdeceit and looking past oneself , shown at Open Space Performance Festival, Frederiksberg and RUM46, Århus, and Overgaden institute of Contemporary art.

2009: Residency at CCA, centre for Contemporary Art, Glasgow.

2008-2009: ”skar skat skat sakt” – a project about tax and justice – and a lot of other sideeffects, commisioned by the danish ministry of taxes and the organization: Mindlab. Skat skat sakt, was a series of brochures with the word ”tax” written thousands of times under different forms of justice and taxrelatede stresses, such as with your hands tied, with your eyes closed (like justitia ) etc. The brochures were also made available at a phoneline for the blind, where the brochures were read aloud forming a sort of ”ursonate” of public administration. For the presentation for the commisioners, I made a speech trying to extract some exact knowledge from the differerent mistakes made under different kinds of pressure.

”Proactive stupidity” – performance/onemanshow with jokes from warfilms, about knowledge, the war of information, and proactive stupidity.. ¨Shown at at interregnum, – University of Copenhagen August 2008, at Overgaden, Copenhagen and Beaver Projects, Copenhagen, at the show ”Utilpas” Frederiksberg, and at Hope University Liverpool, through the Institute of the art and practise of dissent at home, RUM 46, Århus, and Copenhagen Un-fair, Performers Stammtisch, Berlin, and Open international Performance Festival, Beijing China 

2008:”Addressing the crowd” , a performative lecture on communication and sexappeal to your messages in ”Hope and Glory projectroom” Berlin and RUM 46, Århus 

2008:”Get it out!” A text on the right to be quiet, in the literary Magazine ”Den Blaa Port”.

2007: Cabaret of War II – a cabaret of wars from warfilms, with real people, a real band and real fun. 

2007: Cabaret of War I: Performative preview of Cabaret of War – A shadowplay-performance in Glaskasten, Berlin as part of the show ,”Homo Bellicus”, Berlin 

2007:”Le Plateau Populaire” tv-tv at Le Plateau, Paris. 

2007: ”Based on a true story” – an article on embedded journalism for the Documenta 12 series of ”Øjeblikket”

2006: From Denmark to the Eider! – with Annemette Arendt, For the show ”Bastion” , Århus , DK - A film and journey about nation and emotion, and the origin of nationalfeelings. Ulla Hvejsel and Annemette Arendt hitched to the river Eider, which is the border between the german counties Schleswig and Holstein. A border that, until the  defeat of the danish in 1864 was seen as the natural border between Denmark and Germany. The border where the people stopped being emotionally danish. 

2006: Placebo – for the show ”The face of disease” at Medical Museion, Copenhagen About placebo effect and the possibility it gives us to technically, cheat ourselves. 

2005: Operation Just Cause II – Europe strikes back, a warfilm”. A film about an action i the Caribbean. An action I took part in as embeddded journalist from the artistrun tv station – tv-tv. 

2005: An unfortunate tendency – mail and letter-art consisting of three letters to the people of Christianshavn asking why they never come to my shows, and explaining the social consequenses of this lack of attendance. For the groupsshow: "work,work,work", curated by Louise Wolthers og Katrhine Olldag,  at Overgaden, institute for contemporary art, Copenhagen

2004: Tv-Tv Cofounder of the artist-run tv station tv-tv. Tv-tv productions: In the fields of the Lord, a collage on Mesopotamia, ”Watching tv experimentally”- a programme series teaching people diiferent methods of watching tv experiementally,  ”All us normal people, a theme night on the ’special’, and the right to live a normal Life, themeweek:” About doing it yourself and making it possible” in collaboration with Stine Eriksen Co-writer of the short-film ”the job-centre” 

2004: The ministry of two sides of the same thing. Artistic pages for the magazine Øjeblikket. 

2004:To the people of Europe, House Gallery , London, a film about the preparations of the European coalition, before heading for an intenden conquest of Guantanamo Bay. Embedded Journalist on ”parallelaction 3.3.048. A European attempt at scaring the Americans off GUANTANAMO BAY, and conquering the territory for Europe. See www.parallelaction.com. 

2004 Too much difference between people is an administrative Hell- an educational campaign on the right to be accepted within the normal. Shown in various locations and distributed at libraries etc. : 

2004: Smoke On The Water – co-organizer of the Artfestival at Tippen, old wastelands of Copenhagen. 

2003. A schoolbook for primary school children, made for Trekroner school as part of the project ”Art in i Trekroner,” a project that was part of the development of Trekroner; a suburb under construction, near Roskilde/Denmark.

2002-03:”Life in short” :greeting Cards, resembling the classical prewritten greeting cards for all life’s occasions. These were cards for thse of lifes happy and unhappy moments that I felt were typical enough to be accepted within this framework of recurrent happy and unhappy events. There were consoling cards to and from divorcees, to congratulations on getting citizenship etc. Shown at the at the Copenhagen Bookfair and at the show ”Running in the family at ”I.N.K”, Copenhagen. 

2002 ”A lion says brøl in Danish” with Julie Sinding in Copenhagen Zoo. Informative speech-balloons informing the international guests about what the animals say in danish. A dog says ”Vov” and a frog says ”kvak” for instance. 

2001-2002:”Job in Realpolitk comittee”, - a show in the context of the job-advertisment. See A series of job-adds in major danish newspapers, from the organization ”realpolitik Comittee”.
